Congratulations to the LPM graduates of the Class of 2006.
They
received their certificates at Synod Assembly in May in Council Bluffs.
Pastor
Amy Fondroy Eich received a Certificate of Audit.
LPM
will be presenting workshops and the worship services at the Discovering
Hope event on August 26th in Gowrie. Plan to attend and check out what
this national ecumenical program can offer your music ministry in your
congregation!
The
next class will begin in September of 2007. During the year ahead, we
would look forward to conversations with anyone interested in this
opportunity to build skills, knowledge and a strong support system for the
music in worship of your congregation.
Jan
Graettinger is serving as the Western Iowa Synod coordinator for LPM. She
has now accepted the challenge of serving as the chair of the National
Board of LPM for the next 2 years. The national curriculum is currently
under extensive revision to meet the needs of the ecumenical community now
involved as partners in this program and will be available on-line in a
different structure during the next calendar year. This gives our Western
Iowa groups a chance to be among the first to participate in LPM with this
new structure. The format of classes and sharing will remain the same!!
We are also seeking someone who would be interested in becoming certified
as coordinator! With a new national Calvin Grant, LPM is developing
several opportunities for "field training" during the coming year, and
information about these will appear as it is finalized. Scholarship is
available for this training. Please contact Jan if you are interested in
either the class or the coordinator training!
